By participating in UPRISE Startup Festival 2016 the following conditions are applicable:

However, the event organizers make no representations or warranties in relation to this website or the information and materials provided on this website.  UPRISE Festival B.V. do not warrant that this website will be constantly available, or available at all; or that the information on this website is complete, true, accurate or non-misleading. Nothing on this website constitutes, or is meant to constitute, advice of any kind. UPRISE Festival B.V. and its assistants are not liable for any damages in connection with the information or the availability of this information. The event organizers are neither responsible nor liable for the content of any linked third party websites. Before you act on the information provided on this website or on any linked sites, it is advisable to verify the information first with the website owner and inquire about any applicable conditions. The content of this website may not be reproduced and/or published in any form or by any means, without UPRISE Festival B.V.’s prior written consent.

The Event:

In the event that any services become unavailable for any reason, UPRISE Festival B.V., its appointed agents and other sub-contractors will make every effort to solve the problem or to supply alternatives of equal standard and value but no responsibility can be accepted for failure to provide the specific services.

In no event will UPRISE Festival B.V. be liable for any losses or damages (foreseeable or unforeseeable) including loss or damage to brought-in materials and products, loss of profits, loss of goodwill or damage to reputation, loss or corruption of data or any indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive or consequential damages, whether under tort, contract or other theories of recovery, as a result of the use of this website or as a result of participation in the event.

Eventbrite and Stripe handle the payment processing for tickets, and it’s terms and conditions are applicable for all ticket sales. UPRISE Festival B.V. are not liable or responsible for any business activities or unforeseen events of Eventbrite and Stripe, including moratorium, bankruptcy, or any other situation where Eventbrite and Stripe does not transfer the ticket sales to the event organizers.

By participating in UPRISE Startup Festival 2016 you consent to the use of your image or likeness incidental to any live or recorded video display or other transmission or reproduction of the event. Furthermore, you agree, that you will not transmit or aid in transmitting any recording, description, account, picture, or reproduction of talks / workshops where the speaker explicitly asks you not to.

By participating in UPRISE Startup Festival 2016 you agree to adhere to any additional house rules or regulations that apply. Violation of house rules or regulations can result in removal from the event and revocation of the ticket without the refund of any portion of the ticket price.

Ticket purchase Terms

Please read and understand the following terms and conditions as they are binding for all ticket purchase.

No exchange of tickets will be made under any circumstances and tickets are not transferable and may not be resold. UPRISE Festival B.V. reserves the right to cancel any tickets that have been transferred or resold and to deny any such Ticket Holder entry.

We reserve the right to cancel any ticket purchase made by any person or body whom we reasonably believe to be associated with any ticket broker or tout. UPRISE Festival B.V. reserves the right to refuse admission to any event or conference for any behaviour, which it deems unacceptable, or for breach of the terms and conditions.

The tickets purchased are for your own personal use or that of your business only and may not be re-sold or transferred for commercial gain under any circumstances, including but not limited to use as part of any promotion or competition. Where there has been any re-sale or attempted re-sale of any tickets (or any other breach of this term), we reserve the right to cancel the relevant tickets with immediate effect.

Request for visitor ticket refunds can ONLY be made 14 days or more prior to the commencement of the event. In the eventuality of a request for refund, written notice must be sent to the Organizer of the event. Where no written notice has been sent to UPRISE Festival B.V. 14 days or more prior to the event taking place, no refund will be made. Tickets with a special discount or any offer are not eligible for a refund.

UPRISE Festival B.V. does not issue VISA’s for attendance of the Event. In the event that an attendee’s visa is not granted, tickets will not be refunded for any event or conference.

If you have been selected to volunteer at the event but have already bought a ticket, you are not eligible for a refund.

Students who have registered online for free tickets can only enter the Event if they provide a current student legitimation at the entry. Otherwise, no entry will be allowed. The same applies for students who are entitled to buy their tickets at the reduced price . In the case of no legitimate student identification being produced no refund will be issued.

UPRISE Festival B.V. reserves the right without refund or compensation to refuse admission/evict any persons whose conduct is disorderly or inappropriate or who poses a threat to security, or to the enjoyment of the Event by others.

Photography, audio or video recording is allowed during the Event with the prior permission of UPRISE Festival B.V., unless otherwise stated by the Organizer of the Event. UPRISE Festival B.V retains the right to have use of any media created during the festival by any party participating.

UPRISE Festival B.V. may postpone, cancel, interrupt, or stop the event due to adverse weather, dangerous situations, or any other causes beyond his reasonable control.

Entry to the Event is not subject to any age restrictions, unless otherwise stated by UPRISE Festival B.V..

Privacy policy

UPRISE Festival B.V is committed to ensuring your privacy is protected. This Privacy Policy, effective 01 January, 2015, sets out how UPRISE Festival (the “Site”, “us” or “we”), developed & owned by uses and protects any information that you (“you” or “user”) provide us when you use the Site. To be able to use certain areas and features of the Site, specifically requested by you, we may require you provide us with information that identifies you personally. This information may include:

To be able to create an account with UPRISE Festival, to use and subscribe to the service offered by the Site you must provide us with your identifiable personal information. We will never sell or share your personal contact information to any persons or organizations except when required by law for the investigation of illegal or criminal actives, the exercise of legal rights or in defense against any legal claims, or otherwise.

How We Ensure the Security of Your Information

UPRISE Festival is committed to ensuring that your identifiable and non-identifiable personal information is secure. We have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to prevent unauthorised access, modification, disclosure, or loss of your identifiable personal information. However, we cannot assure your identifiable and non-identifiable personal information will never be disclosed in a nature that conflicts with this Privacy Policy. Additionally, we are not responsible for any breach of security or actions undertaken by any third parties that receive the information.

Online Advertising We Use

We use Google AdWords Remarketing to advertise UPRISE Festival across the Internet. AdWords remarketing will display relevant ads tailored to you based on what parts of the UPRISE Festival website you have viewed by placing a cookie on your machine. THIS COOKIE DOES NOT IN ANYWAY IDENTIFY YOU OR GIVE ACCESS TO YOUR COMPUTER The cookie is used to say “This person visited this page, so show them ads relating to that page.” Google AdWords Remarketing allows us to tailor our marketing to better suit your needs and only display ads that are relevant to you.

How to Opt Out of Remarketing and Advertising

If you do not wish to participate in our Google AdWords Remarketing, you can opt out by visiting Google’s Ads Preferences Manager

Controlling Your Personal Information

We make every effort to give you access to your personal information, to allow you to correct any inaccuracies, or to remove your personal information at your request provided it is not required for genuine business purposes or by law to be retained. We require you identify yourself and the information you request to access, remove, modify or correct before commencing such requests. We may refuse requests that are of unreasonable technical effort or would be highly unfeasible, endanger the privacy of others, or require access that is not normally necessary. When we provide access to your personal information for the purposes of modification, correction or removal, we do so free of charge except where doing so requires a unreasonable effort.
