UPRISE Festival, the talent and technology festival, returns to Dublin on 17 th and 18 th October 2018, with a new home and even more ambitious two-day schedule. This year’s event is the seventh edition of the festival that has catapulted startups onto the global tech scene during the European events hosted in The Netherlands and now Ireland.
Stages and Speakers
The two main Stages this year focus on showcasing a new way of looking at topics through our 13 Content Tracks during the 2 Day Festival. Bringing 105 Speakers with over 60 hours of content. Prominent themes this year are Smart Cities, Blockchain, Automation, Sportstech, Healthtech, Fintech, Recruitment and the Workplace. Dublin City Council this year sponsors one of our two main stages committing to building the tech meet culture aspect of the unique festival.
This year’s venue is none other than the Dublin landmark, The Richmond, a former hospital on Dublin’s North Brunswick Street. Indeed, the move marks the beginning of a community relationship with Smithfield, one of Dublin’s rich cultural pockets. UPRISE Festival is the first tech festival to showcase in the vicinity.
Some of our 105 Speakers include:
Lisa Nelson – Managing Director for M12 Microsoft’s Venture Fund | US
Cassie Craddock – Manager of Business Development Ripple | UK
Mathias Ockenfels Partner of Speedinvest x | Germany
Ilyas Vali Co-Founder of rLoop | UK
Thimo Schmitt-Lord MBE CEO of Bayer Foundations | Germany
The 100y Program
This year the Tech Festival doubles down on showcasing local talent. Nowhere is this more evident that the top 100 Young Innovators year-long program picked from within Ireland and the United Kingdom. This program offers a platform for showcasing young innovators making an impact in their local ecosystem. UPRISE offers a platform and profile, content and connection to our network. The jury picked 100 members of the program working with partners in tech for the year.
The Challenger Pitch Battle and Investors
Returning is a revamped Challenger Pitch Battle with 9 International Investors firms with open funds in Fintech, Cryptocurrencies and Healthtech. The Investors will give feedback and pick 3 (of the 9 Startups) to battle out on the main stage during the second day of the festival. 2018 will have the largest International Investor Index that the tech festival will have debuted to date with over 30 Investors participating from SpeedInvest, Microsoft Ventures, to Blackpearls VC.
Our proud partners are Dublin City Council, Failte Ireland, RTE, Silicon Republic.
